Case Story - Glad to Be of Service

I was just heading out from a client's house when the company called me up to say that a client needed assistance nearby. Mary (on the phone) said it was kind of urgent because the customer was locked out. I would have rushed anyway, but when I hear that people don't have access to their homes or cars, I try to be even faster. We all do in our company and that's why I am happy to be a part of this team. Anyway, I didn't waste time organizing my tools in the truck, I just left them as they were and headed off for the customer's house. It's best to be with the client as fast as possible even if I have to search for my tools in the van because naturally they feel more confident with a professional locksmith standing by them.

Mrs. Alison Walters (the customer) was waiting for me patiently at the doorsteps. She explained that she had taken the wrong key with her and didn't find out till she tried to open the door. I told her that there was nothing to worry about and that I would take care of everything. I saw her smiling and that meant a lot to me! When customers are so nice and friendly, I am even happier to be of service. So, I didn't waste a second. I got every tool needed to open the door from my truck and got to work. The door was open in seconds, Mrs. Walters walked in and I told her I'd wait till she makes sure her keys were in the house.

She told me to come in but I preferred to wait at the doorstep. People are often nice, but I don't want to disturb them any more than I have to. After all, they have just gone through an incident. Mrs. Walters found her keys and asked me if I could make two duplicates so that she would keep one in her purse at all times. I was glad to be of service. I told her that I would be right back. When we say that our company provides key cutting services, we mean immediate service. That's the reason for us travelling with so much equipment in our vans. I made sure the new keys were cut well and then tested them on Mrs. Walter's door.

The door locks seemed to open and lock just fine. As I was trying out the key, I made sure that the lock was alright, too. I wouldn't want my client to have security issues! I reassured her that everything was okay and she was all set. She seemed to be happy and said so! She paid me and told me that I was a fine young person and to keep up the good work I do. I love my job, but when I hear such nice comments from customers, I just feel two feet taller!
